This year’s National GET PLASTERED event will occur on September 25, 2010. Be part of a healing experience in-spite of breast cancer!

Join an existing group of woman at a local site or start your own group and experience an amazing opportunity to find healing through art, educate others, and keep any donations in your own breast cancer community.  This event enables women with breast cancer and those who have been touched by cancer to work through a creative process. In doing so, achieve a lucidity about the disease & its many variations, such as HER2, triple negative, BRCA+, as well as, how it has touched each person individually, emotionally, and physically - in a supportive environment. Heal through a creative endeavor and exhibit or auction the produced artwork in an effort to raise money for breast cancer. Her2 Friends is working on its non-profit status to be able to help others get started, work through planning, education through the plastering event and reception.

Last year at one site, over 25 women from across the San Francisco bay area, created plaster impressions of their own breasts and decorated them in anticipation and celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 2009. The reception was an opportunity to view the various artistic interpretations of each woman, some with breast cancer others not. The reception featured the the plastered busts, food, wine and classical guitarists - exhibit donations totally almost $10, 000 were used in the bay area to support breast cancer.
